Britney Dating Carter?
KISS 108 reported: It seems that singer Britney Spears has finally found love after her split from 'NSYNC's Justin Timberlake - Backstreet Boys hunk Nick Carter.
According to sources, the 20-year-old "Boys" beauty has struck up a relationship with Carter, who is the youngest member of his band - as is chart rival Timberlake.
Timberlake, 21, and 22-year-old Carter have also recently embarked on solo projects.
Sources say that Britney and Carter "met up at a few places in Los Angeles and New York" over the past few weeks, including one night in LA when they "went out to eat and back to Brit's home".
Although Spears' spokeswoman, who also represents Carter, denied the date, a source close to the blonde singer tells American magazine US Weekly that they've had a few dates and to "not be shocked to hear they're more than just friends".

UK Glamour magazine profiled the truth behind Britney's backlash, which included our earlier reported item on Britney Spears being forced to not do a London meet and greet at the premiere of 'Crossroads' because she was wearing a borrowed ,000 necklace. Asked how Spears has coped with the controveries of late, her spokesman said, "I would say she's coped better with everything than I imagined she would. Has she changed? Just in the regular way, from a 16-year-old to a 20 year-old, nothing abnormal. The worst case scenario for what happens next is she puts out another record or movie that does really badly, moves to Louisiana, gets married and raises some kids. The best case is she takes more challenging roles, makes better films and progresses as a musician. The film thing is a big deal to her; she's not confident in her acting ability."

Britney is releasing both a book and DVD according to britneyspears.com. Both are set to be released on Britney's birthday, December 2nd. The book, named "Stages" as many photos, including Britney performing and from backstage of the "Dream within A Dream" tour. The DVD, documents Britney's trip to Mexico and the ending of the "Dream" tour.

Britney Spears let Good Morning America go behind the scenes with her at last night's MTV Video Music Awards, where she presented Michael Jackson with a birthday present. While wanting the media attention in this case, Spears admitted she had no idea wanting to escape the media glare with a six-month break would turn into the media blow-up that it did. "I wanted to take a break spiritually to be out of the press so much," she explained. "I was sick of seeing myself on TV and I said a break and now I have more press than ever … it's like, what's going on?"

In an ongoing effort to ditch her squeaky clean image, Spears looked like she'd pillaged ex-Judas Priest singer Rob Halford's closet, showing up in her biker's best: a leather dress, matching hat and lace-up stilettos. When asked if she was enjoying her night off from performing duties, Spears replied, "No snakes. Hell yeah!"

Britney had originally discarded it after they split, but chose to wear it once more when she knew her ex-boyfriend would see it, as Justin was a presenter at the bash.

The Boston Herald reports Britney Spears visited her 'Britney Spears Camp for the Performing Arts' on Saturday to chat with the 125 kids that were at the camp to learn skills including hip-hop and jazz dance, writing, drama, blues and juggling. Britney revealed that instead of taking the six months off, she's reading three movie scripts and will begin working on a new film in October. Until then, she said she plans to decorate her new apartment in New York, "hang out, be a girl, eat hot dogs, go to dance class, whatever."

Canadian comics posing as Celine Dion persuaded Britney Spears to sing a duet with golfer Tiger Woods called 'Let's Make a Hole in One' for a bogus charity event. The clip is on the internet, but unfortunately costs and is designed to sell to radio stations (though you can listen to about 30 seconds of it here). At one point Spears asked how Celine's son was, where the phoney Dion responded, "Rene-Charles is exactly like his father, he has no hair. He really is a great baby. Having a baby change a woman a lot." Britney's response -- "Right, right. I would totally love that."

Britney Spears has a scraped knee, and she has Brad Pitt to thank for it. On the prowl for some excitement one recent afternoon, the 20-year-old pop singer bought a star map of L.A. celebrity homes. Soon she and a girlfriend were parked outside the Beverly Hills mansion Pitt shares with wife Jennifer Aniston. "I stood on top of my car, trying to see in," says Spears, who fell off when she spotted the resident hunk in the driveway. "I busted my knee open. I felt like the biggest dumbass ever." Did Pitt see her? "No, and thank you, God," she says with a laugh. "I would've been so humiliated." If Spears sounds like a bored young woman with plenty of time on her well-manicured hands, she admits as much, in an exclusive interview in PEOPLE's latest issue. "I honestly don't know what to do with myself," she says. Which is just what she had hoped for in announcing an indefinite hiatus from recording and performing beginning this month. Of course, that won't prevent her from reading film scripts and appearing Aug. 29 on MTV's Video Music Awards. Still, says Spears, "I need this break to rejuvenate spiritually and to just play."
She may have playtime in mind, but tabloid editors are working overtime on Britney breakdown stories. Following her parents' divorce in May, her split from 'N Sync heartthrob Justin Timberlake in March, sliding record sales and a spate of public relations disasters from London to Mexico, she remains genuinely mystified by the public impression that she's imploding. "I'm taking a break, so people are writing that I'm having a meltdown," says Spears, in a midriff-baring T-shirt and bebe hip-huggers slung low enough to reveal a hint of pink lace. "I don't get it." Yet Spears admits that her fresh-scrubbed role-model days are over. "I never wanted to hide who I was," she says, "but until about a year ago I was trying to fit an image and trying to be someone I wasn't."
